    Easter

I am truly sad Easter Break is over. It was such a genuinely relaxing, fun time. We spent time down in Ohau - met the new boy, who seems nice - and did lots of sleeping and eating and walking. And it gave me a really good opportunity to give the Pentax a serious workout. Then I got to jam at church for the Sunday service with a really awesome band - I'm a lucky girl! First time playing with the choir and not being in choir. Weird, but fun.

It almost sucks having to come back to work, but I guess life goes on...and money must be earned etc. Newspaper industry is truly high paced and crazy though. Today everyone seemed a bit on edge - the long weekend seems to have thrown everything out of whack. Not cool. Here's to tomorrow being better.

Photos!!! I took over 300 pictures on the weekend. Don't worry, I will spare people the majority of them...lol

    home on the range

So...have the day off from work today and not leaving for Ohau till about 9pm tonight. Am planning on doing really awesome things like:

    1. Washing - of the machine and hand variety
    2. Baking - for the weekend and the week ahead
    3. Preparing tomatoes for freezing (takes longer than you think!)
    4. FINALLY unpacking boxes that have sat in my room for over a month :P
    5. Playing bass

We have a serious over abundance of tomatoes - what with people gifting them to us and all - if I don't freeze them then they'll just rot in the fridge.

    Which reminds me:

    6. Clean out fridge

But once tomatoes are frozen they are only good for cooking purposes. So I'm trying to package them in small enough amounts for meals. And the skins have to be taken off etc.

    7. Kill all the damn flies that have invaded the house (!!!!)

    Flies piss me off.

But I also hate the smell of fly spray :P

I like being self sufficient. In the last week or so I have been baking and stocking the freezer with things like peppers. Yes, I am a little strange.

In all seriousness though, if Isaac were to get the kind of well paying self sufficient job I would like him to get - although that will be a few years off yet! - I would be quite happy to stay home and make jam and relish and bake all day and do dishes and laundry.

    Seriously.

I would also tend my vegie garden and prepare for the winter by filling the root cellar.

Perhaps I read too many Laura Ingalls Wilder books as a child...

The modern housewife looks a little more like Bree Van Der Kamp-Hodge than Laura Ingalls Wilder.

But I'm also sure that I can learn to make a mean lemon meringue pie. I already do good chocolate brownies!!!

Perhaps we can also have a cow to milk...or maybe not :P

    Whizz

I have no idea where this week has gone. It has honestly gone incredibly fast. I have gained back a flat mate and lost the other for the weekend - to the debaucheries of Queenstown nonetheless! To be fair the flatmate I have gained back is sick and thus not awake yet.

Work was actually a blur. I'm not entirely sure what I achieved this week! But it must have been something. (Crapski - almost dropped my cup of coffee! Must pay more attention to what I'm doing!)

Can't wait for Easter next weekend. Finally - more than two days off work!

Went and visited Mum in hospital last night, doctors say that the surgery went well. She was pretty out of it from all the anesthetic though! She might be discharged today so will pop in and see her later on (as in, when I actually manage to make it into the shower...) Stayed for about an hour or so. Very disconcerting to see ones mother lying in bed with tubes etc poking out of her. *shudder* Not fun.

Met up with some old O/maxers for Jude's leaving drinks last night at the Dux. Was good to see people I hadn't seen in awhile! Still think they all need to get out of there - but I've made my opinions quite clear on that! Haha.

She who is leaving and she who should leave ;)

Boys...Wilson found the flash really bright

We FINALLY get him to smile but now Isaac looks like Wilson smells

    We are awesome...hahaha

So yes, fun times. Home late - but I guess that's ok on a Friday. Rossy - of the cold and flu like symptoms - was surprisingly enough still awake! Had a bit of a chat but was really tired so yeah.

And now I really have to start the day!!!

    new layout

New layout = a work in progress.

I would flog my web developer so he works faster, but I have already agreed to marry him so should probably be nice.

Or does it work the other way around???

    Puzzlement...

    Weekends?

SO tired. Flatwarming was "great success" (you know the tone, now use it!!) but had to be up early today for an ear test and then out with Mum to look at dresses etc. Not a fun thing to do with very little sleep in you!

I feel like I haven't really wound down from the week - and yet that is SO what I need to do!!!

No photos from the flatwarming either - wasn't really the place. Although we LOOKED damn popular as the place was packed out. The boy and I are supposed to be going to another flatwarming tonight. But I can barely keep my eyes open. All I want to do is curl up in bed and watch the last few eps of House that are on my laptop.

Also as that means that we can start watching the third season of Veronica Mars - which FINALLY showed on Thursday. *parties*

I have also resigned myself to the fact that I will not have free weekend to do "me" things until mid-April. Yes, my life is THAT exciting. And for three of those four weekends I will be out of town. Thankfully easter comes in there somewhere so hopefully I'll at least be able to veg then...HOPEFULLY.

We're down south for Easter. The boy's sister's boyfriend is coming to meeting the whole family for the first time. He must be a brave man. It'll probably rain the whole time we're there and we'll be stuck in the house together. Lol.

    Oooh...food's here :)

    Humorous Pictures

Am not looking forward to Thursday.

Also am tired of people (namely two...) harassing me for money. Um...have DEBT, am poor, have bills and trying to save for a wedding.

    *sigh*

Week feels long and yet not long enough...

    It's just my opinion...

But good on Prince Harry for being at war and doing what he's actually trained to do.

Not that I'm advocating war in any way. But boys - third in line to the throne or not - don't like to be mollycoddled. They need some sort of adventure in life. Why do you think that he's out all the time boozing up? I think this will be good for him.

Of course, when I have children - if I have children - I wouldn't want them at war either!

Speaking of boozing: extremely LOUD, boozy party in our street last night. Burnouts and people shouting "Don't you get in that car!! You're too [expletive] drunk to drive!!!" in a boozy manner. Worrying...
