Feels like forever since I've had the time just to sit and think...
The engagement party went well, probably better than well actually! I didn't realise we had so many friends. Haha. No, seriously, it was really fun and just good to catch up with people we hadn't seen in awhile. And there was SO MUCH food!!! Neither of us got to eat anything as we were so busy socialising.
Needless to say, there are no pictures - also due to socialising.
I have lost a flatmate and I don't know where he is...am marginally worried. And our internet is playing up again...hmmm...
Am making tea for the boy and I - we have the house to ourselves tonight, which doesn't happen very often around here!

Saturday
Woke up SO early today...about an hour later than I normally would on a work day! Sucks. Have been in bed all this time but about to get up and make yummy breakfast and real brewed coffee. Deserve a treat damnit! Then will bake and do dishes and possibly laundry.
Engagement party tonight and fingers are numb from being out from under the covers....

Competence still enroute?
It's kind of like a "it's in the post" feeling, y'know?
I've been working at my job for close to five months now. Do I love it? Heck, yes! The people are great and we have so much fun - even when it's stressful. Do I have the faintest idea of what I'm doing? Well, every so often I think I do...and then it turns out that actually I don't really.
I closed a campaign that probably made the paper $30,000 this last week. Crazy eh! Course, I don't see the thousands of dollars...but it's a nice feeling nonetheless.
Funny how it's things like that that actually give me job satisfaction. Like, I did a good job, I am awesome and I love my job. Sometimes we're so newspaper cliche that it amuses me no end. Like the yelling and the swearing and the - for lack of a better word - "play fighting". When the big boss man comes barreling out of his office yelling it always strikes me as something that J. Jonah Jameson would do. Admittedly he's an editor and we're talking advertising. But still! It's almost as cool as working for the Bugle...

Guess who's back, back again...
It's that time of year again...the temperature drops to single digits (if we're lucky!) or the negatives (as it's supposed to do tonight!). Getting out of bed is hard, the flannellette sheets come out, as does the big wool blanket and the hot water bottle.
Yes, winter is well and truly here.
It's cold.
I wish I could hibernate....

Whoosh
This week has gone by so quickly!! I am SO glad that tomorrow is Friday. Today constituted awful in so many ways.
1) The COLD. It makes it so incredibly hard to get out of bed!!! I was seriously contemplating calling in sick today - feels like winter...
2) Work!!!! I love my job (no, really!) - it's so much better than my old job and I love the people and yes I bitch about them but I enjoy the amusement they bring. But when I basically get ripped a new one by some dick in Auckland on a power trip I don't like it. Especially when the start off with "Now I know it's not your fault BUT..." Seriously? You know you're in the wrong, don't take it out on me. Asshole.
3) People who can't make coffee properly. We have a brand spanking new percolator at work. The manager won it at golf and has brought it in for all to use. What annoys me is people who don't seem to realise that 12 cups of coffee does not equate to filling the filter up ALL the way with coffee. YUCK. I swear the coffee at work could corrode your insides. It stains the insides of cups black. And with Jem away I haven't been making real coffee at home so good coffee would have been nice.
That's really about it. But the dickhead yelling at me really put a damper on my day. Ah well...c'est la vie, n'est pas?
Did I mention that I am awesome? I got Isaac the most awesome 2 year anniversary present EVER...
Ok...you can't see the shirt properly. But I like this photo.
Now you can see it. He's a pirate, get it??? Lol.
I found this most awesome CD shop in town. It's called Radar, it has all sorts of rare/classic/contemporary music in there. I also bought myself James Brown's Duets CD for $5. Steal!!!
Anyway, must buy myself a bass tuner tomorrow. I feel hindered without one :P
