We had this really interesting speaker at church last night. He was a Palestinian christian living in Bethlehem. It was great, he was really funnyn and REALLY well educated. He basically gave us the entire backstory to the Palestine/Israel conflict - which is great for an uneducated person like me! - and talked about how it's not about who should get the land but that we should learn to love people on both sides of the fence.
Which is true because that's totally what Jesus talked about. You know, he loved the sinners and the prostitutes and the tax collectors. Not just because they were Jews either! He had no time for the self-righteous people of the day.
And to be fair I don't either.
Both the Israelis and the Palestinians have committed wrongs in this war. I don't think there's actually any point in playing "the blame game" it's gone on too long and every thing's so tangled up that it would be impossible to really make any sense of blaming anyone.
But the truth is we don't really hear about the Palestinian side of the story. All we hear is what the western media drip feeds us about how Israel is oppressed. The heavily biased western media I might add.
Israel has performed it's fair share of injustices but in the west we tend to herald them as God's chosen people and thus it is their right to have this land that they took by force anyway. And I'm not saying that they're NOT God's chosen people - the bible clearly states that they are. But the bible also says that we are ALL God's people; Jews AND Gentiles.
Let's face it, all of us who are NOT jews are Gentiles.
I just can't reconcile a LOVING God, a God who loves the WHOLE world (John 3:16!!!) and a just and fair God with what is going on with the Middle East. I don't reconcile that idea with us supporting the "relocation" of people from their homes into refugee camps.
We have a new covenant. It was written in Jesus' blood. It's not about land it's about loving other's as you would love yourself. It's about loving other's as Jesus would.
It just reminds me of the old testemant and how time and time again God warned the Israelites and he called them a "stiff-necked people" and how they were always proud and how he always had to take them down a peg or two.
I'm not anti-Israel. But I refuse to be anti-Palestine. Those people have as much of a right to be there as the Israelis do. I don't understand why they couldn't intergrate in the first place - because they sure as heck can't intergrate now. But I don't understand why they won't leave it alone either. They have their land, why should they continue to try and push their authority over the Palestinians?
I don't get it.

I think you need to read the original King James version of the bible, not the modern bible in which Zionists have put in foot notes that give a totally incorrect context to the words of Jesus.
Israel is nothing but a land grab farce since 1947. If you read the original bible you will see that Israel was a person not a country or tribe, check the dictionarys from pre-1947 if you are sceptical.
The Jews that you have today are not the same Jews as spoken about in the Bible, therefore they are not Gods chosen people.
I feel that you may be missing my point. Perhaps it is more accurate to read the original King James and perhaps it isn't. (You obviously seem to think it is.)
My point was not about who is right or wrong - like I said I think both sides have made mistakes in their handling of this situation.
All I'm saying is that if God is love then why can't we love both sides equally rather than picking sides and belittling the side that we are not on?
I think because not all humans have a heart and mind like yours. Precisely why there are law-breakers. Crude oil and pure water don't mix. The crude oil will surely try to be at the top no matter what. Not minding if there's anyone down there without sunshine. The fight between good and evil is not a myth but the truth.
You're both mistaken. The Jews have always been God's chosen people. He gave the land of Canaan to Israel (which was a person that became a nation through his offspring)through Abraham and Moses. He drove the Jews out of the land because of their sin. He promised in Ezekiel and Daniel that he would bring them back. Israel's existence today is prophecy fulfilled. As far as the war going on at this moment, there are rocket attacks being carried out by Hamas against Israel every day. Israel has taken about 2 1/2 years of these attacks before responding militarily. Soon you will see Russia, Iran and many Arab nations launch an all-out attack against Israel. This is also prophecy, from Daniel and Ezekiel. For more info on the prophecies, look up Joel C Rosenberg, John Hagee, and Tim LaHaye. God does love all people, but not all people love God. You should also do some more research about the muslims and what they believe because it isn't peace they're looking for. Joel Rosenberg has some fantastic information about that as well. As far as choosing sides, the Bible states that anyone who curses Israel will be cursed, and anyone who blesses Israel will be blessed. There's no mincing of words in that.
Guys guys prophecies are bull for the simple reason that people try to make them happen even though if its set in stone already it will happen no matter what still I dont think the jews should have gotten Israel and besides not many people have gotten killed from these rockets in Israel but with Palestinians we're nearing a death toll of a thousands i mean come on that is too extreme so screw what the bible says for it is only an inspired document written by Jews i might add sheesh
it would never end
if the devil can not stop to kill the Palestinian
it would be end
if people be in one heart to struggle the peace
what is the point of this crazy war?
killed the children and women!
the Israel took Palestine illegally!
